Oblique Photography (above): Best described as a scenic photograph taken close up or at distance. An oblique photograph allows you to obtain a 3 dimensional perspective of your property.

Vertical Photography (above): Best described as a birds eye, or map-like view. Vertical Photographs provide you with a 90 degree perspective of your property.

The term "Vertical Photography" refers to views taken from directly above the subject. Advanced Aerial Photography is one of the few aerial photography companies in North Carolina that provides "true vertical photography", and about the only one that corrects for lens curvature upon request.  Our camera is mounted to the floor with a gyro-stabilizing motion dampening unit in the aircraft and the images are captured through a camera port at a 90-degree angle to the ground.

Grading companies, attorneys, engineers uses these overhead views, and people who work in topographic sensitivity as well as real estate who need to see roof tops and road structures. These views are not meant to give a sense of height of structures as oblique views do. But rather, they allow you see in all directions around a site to view comitition draw, neighboring properties and to assess the shape and layout of a area relevant to the site.

We fly as low or as high as you need to in order to capture the area that you need to see. It is not abnormal to request a field of view at 20,000 feet above ground.
